In the home, furniture lends meaning and purpose to our environment. My goal is to have each piece I make exceed the expectations of the client as well as my own. I love the entire process of solving design challenges for others… the interaction, the design process, the construction, the finishing details, and finally seeing how wonderfully the furniture compliments the environment for which it was designed. Because each piece is driven by the client, my work covers a wide range of styles. As a result, my clients have a special piece of art that fulfills a need as well as a piece that will be treasured possessions for many generations.

Proportion and line, wood and color, carving and shaping, are details I pay close attention to. I use solid wood construction in my work and hand pick every board from sustainable harvested wood. I incorporate a wide variety of woodworking techniques including hand carving and classic joinery (mortise and tenon, dovetails). I experiment with various textures and surface treatments. I choose the appropriate finish for each piece. The result is a lively, sensual piece of studio furniture.
